Simple mixing tip umber 2:
Here is another tip that can improve your mixing decisions:

After every break, listen to a reference track

Why?Because when you step away from your mix, your ears reset.
And that’s the perfect opportunity to recalibrate your perspective.

Before jumping back into your project, play a professionally mixed song that has a similar sound to what you’re aiming for.
Listen to the balance. That means the relationship between the low end, the midrange, and the top end.

Basically, listen to the overall vibe. Then switch back to your mix.
You will immediately have a much clearer picture of what’s actually happening.

I do this constantly during mixing and mastering sessions.
Not because I’m trying to copy someone else’s sound. But because it helps me maintain objectivity throughout the day and finish the job faster.

So, next timeyou take a break, don’t go straight back into your mix.

Listen to a reference track first regain perspective. Your ears will thank you!
